Gary Moore Shiatsu
Hello and welcome to "Gary Moore Shiatsu" - for those of you who do not yet know me, I am a Fully Qualified Shiatsu Practitioner based in Norwich, but working throughout Norfolk. Over the last 14 years I have helped people with a wide variety of conditions. One of my great passions and specialities is in supporting people to heal old "wounds" and to help them to recover from old incidents and injuries and related physical, mental and emotional traumas.(Please refer to "About Me " section).
This website aims to be a valuable resource in helping you find balance and feel grounded and empowered in all aspects of your life. It is intended to be an extension of the Shiatsu and Tai chi experience-a site providing a mix of calmness and support, together with interesting and inspiring articles and updates.
It should provide you with the information necessary for you to have a reasonable awareness of what is involved in a Shiatsu session and to understand a little about how I work, as well as providing details of up-coming news and events in the Shiatsu and Tai chi world, which I hope will be of interest.
Life is a journey-let's all allow ourselves the time, space and peace to enjoy the experience as we travel.
Why Shiatsu ?
Shiatsu is a Japanese word meaning “finger pressure”. It is a hands-on therapy originating in Japan. The thumbs, palms, and fingers are used to apply relaxed pressure to designated areas of the body.
Everybody responds to touch. It is a natural ability that people are now beginning to recognise again. Shiatsu encourages the body's natural inner energies and its physical structure to re-balance, thereby supporting recovery from conditions, as well as helping to ward off illness and helping to maintain good health.
A Shiatsu session is inherently relaxing and in my opinion, one of the most powerful tools we have to enable the body to recognise the need for change and indeed to encourage the body to make long-lasting changes. Further, as a consequence of the sessions, people are often empowered to make significant lifestyle changes, to improve their health and well being.
